BMW: Where you from Danica?

Danica: Well, I was born and raised in London UK... I have a Jamaican background though, and when people do ask where I come from I tend to say Jamaica. I have been brought up within a family which some will believe to be loud or shall I say upfront...lol. I am the only girl and have 3 brothers who are very protective towards me.

BMW: "An ability to relax in front of the camera!" Where do you get this from at such a young age? Most girls your age are shy!

Danica: LOL... I see you've read my 'profile'! Well... I'm very relaxed in front of the camera for some reason. I build a relationship with the photographer before I actually go on set. I feel this is the best way to start a shoot... Who wants a model that can't open up in front of the camera because they're too shy or not comfortable? If this was the case it would clearly show in the pictures and the outcome wouldn't be great now would it... However to make it far in life you have to take chances and show people what you're capable of. You only live once... right?

BMW: What's your greatest attribute that you believe puts you at a competitive advantage over your colleagues? What do the photographers praise you for? To me it'd be your eyes!!

Danica: HA! Well yeah they seem to praise me on my eyes quite a lot... I tend to ask myself why but my eyes are quite big you cant miss em. The biggest compliments I get from photographers would probably be the amount of poses I come up with on my own without them having to direct me. Another would be that I am versatile within my looks because I can look older than my actual age as you can all see lol... I can do urban or sophisticated when its called for.

BMW: How have you had to deal with stiff competition among other challenges in such a harsh industry for black models at such an early age?

Danica: Ah... well its a good thing you asked that question actually. As we all know modeling is a VERY tough industry along with other industries like music and acting. Lots of people are trying to make it and get themselves recognized however some feel its TOO tough which leads them to believe they can't make it and results in them giving up. I have been trying since I was 15 and although there has been some tears and a lot of knock backs for me, I'm one that will continue going and won't give up at all. I have a lot of people that also believe in me so when I'm down and feel that I can no longer go on, there's always someone there to push me.

BMW: Have your folks been supportive from the start?

Danica: Yes, my mum has been extremely supportive from day one. She believes in me more than I believe in myself... LOL! She guides me and helps me make the right decisions. My brothers also praises me and believe that I can make it. So yeah... I have a lot of support and a lot of people that want to see me succeed and achieve.

BMW: How do you deal with attention at such a delicate age for the fact that most of your male colleagues that BMW had a chance to interact with say you have what they call "sex appeal" simply said...

Danica: I like getting compliments... I mean who doesn't? I don't see it as a problem at the moment. When the compliments stop coming that's when I'll worry... LOL!

BMW: What are your favourite sports? Or are you not a sports junkie?

Danica: Sports... Hmm... Well I was very good at sports in primary school. I loved lacrosse and basketball! Dayumm... I was good. However now that I've left school and I'm now at college I've left all that behind and to be honest its the last thing on my mind. I know we gotta stay fit and I do exercise daily but I wouldn't do it as a hobby. So nope I'm not a sports junkie... Far from it!

BMW: Briefly highlight to us your future ambitions.

Danica: Wooo! Love this question... LOL! I want to be a top model... be on the cover of magazines, be a catwalk star. However, I want to keep my options open. So I also want to become a fashion designer because I'm the biggest fashion junkie you'll ever meet! Trust me on that one. I feel that I can bring a lot to the table.

BMW: If you were to die tomorrow what are the things you would want to do before you die?

Danica: Have a great big party with all my family and friends...
