Linda Tatiene Sanogo
BMW: Your looks raise a lot of question marks about your roots and heritage. How did dad and mom pull it off?? Lol... and what would the kids say at school?!
Linda: My mother is Danish and my father is From Mali. I spent the first half of my life in Niger. There everybody looked at me as white, but when I came to Denmark, it's the opposite. So either way I'm different.
BMW: In your biography, you talk about your ambition to be a Kaospilot?? Does that even exist in the dictionary?? Tell us more...
Linda: KaosPilots is an international management education with a focus on project management, process management and business development. It's still a dream of mine, but very expensive.
BMW: What else, outside modelling are you into?
Linda: I have been attending film academy and studying sound engineering, and I'm also working as a PR-manager for a club... Urban Colorz/The Suit Scandinavia. We focus mainly on hip-hop and reggae. They say most artists in Denmark got their first real big break at our club. We find the good up-comers and give them a shot.
BMW: What, among other aspects do most agencies credit you about, the most, and believe is your greatest asset? Like without it, "it's game over for me in this industry"...
Linda: Probably my hair... If I cut it short I might as well leave the business.
BMW: At 21, you seem to have an achievement list of a 28 year old! Jot down a list of your achievements to date.
Linda: Uh that's hard... Finished business college, PR managing, volunteering for the red cross, sound engineering... was Miss Mali of the world 2010 (went to Turkey, Poland, Dominican Rep and going to Korea okt. 2011), Miss Africa Denmark, African model of the year 2010 Denmark to name a few...
BMW: We've heard a lot about the modelling industry in New York, Paris, London, and Milan... Bamako as well!! lol... So how is it there in the Copenhagen, the "City of Spires"? Or are you specific to Aarhus?
Linda: I struggle as it is here in Denmark, because designers here are afraid of using colored models. I've been asked to bleach my skin... don't go out in the sun and so on...
I go to all the castings and auditions that I can, so they get to see me. A lot of the times, the casting directors and agency will say "no ethnic models" and it's not the agency's fault. Networking is also a big part of it. When you know somebody who knows somebody, maybe they will recommend you.
BMW: Which icons do you look up to for inspiration?
Linda: Iman, Waris Dirie, Natasja(died 2007).
BMW: Tell BMW readers four things you cannot do without Linda... except your phone...lol.
Linda: Water, flowers , hairbrush and music.
