Steillah Sucra
BMW: Steilla Sucra!... Am anxious to know your background... Where exactly do you come from?
Steillah: My mum's womb. Lol... no ermm... I was born in Hackney but raised in North London until I was 14, then got dragged to the sticks (Peterborough) with family and moved to Essex 2 years ago. But my family is originally from St. Marys JA - both my mum and dad's side.
BMW: At the age of 18, you are probably still new in the fashion industry. What drew you into the industry at such an early age?... When did you start?
Steillah: Ermmm, I think it was just over a year and a half ago, I met a guy that was starting a clothing label called JE clothing and basically he asked if I wanted to be in his shoot, so I thought, hey why not. The pictures came out really good so I kinda went from there. I had always been interested in modeling but I didn't think I had what it took as I had the idea you had to be marga, and as you can tell I'm far from it.
BMW: Is family very supportive?... What was their reaction from your first go at modelling?
Steillah: Well, yes initially they were all very supportive, but then after seeing some of my pictures... well let's just say they were less than impressed.
Funnily enough though, my mum is very supportive, she knows I'm not stupid and she will tell me if I've gone to far with a shoot/job. As long as she approves I couldn't give two monkeys about anyone else's opinion.
BMW: From your profile you emphasise a preference for commercial modelling. How successful have you been with getting gigs?
Steillah: Quite successful actually... Offers always come in. A lot of the time I turn them down, because of my studies. I also went through a phase where I wasn't sure if I wanted to model anymore or not. But over all, getting gigs has been pretty easy. I mean everybody is trying to further themselves in this industry, from music artists to directors and for them to do that they need people like me, so yea, I feel I've been successful at getting jobs and what not.
BMW: At 18, what are your biggest challenges in the industry?
Steillah: Competition! My age is no limit what so ever, its competition. And maintaining my appearance...
BMW: Outside modelling, how do you describe yourself?
Steillah: Well I'm a bit of an awkward one I believe....
I like to stay home and jam, watch some films, eat food with friends... I do rave occasionally... Not often though because I'm not driving yet, and London transport at 3am after a rave is not the one.
I love reading, I keep at least two books on my person at all time.
I don't keep many people around me.
To be honest I'm a bit of a loner... lol. But I was born alone, so I enjoy my own company.
BMW: 10 years from now?
Steillah: Well known model with a Hotel empire... :D
Different right?? hehehe I know.
BMW: What do you think about Andy Murray and the Murrymania going on in the country?
Steillah: EEEEEEE ...cough cough ...erm....
well...
I don't watch tennis..lol
Ask me about Eastenders now and I'm with ya...
